Phil Collins expects a potentially memorable encounter when he and Oasis attend the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Los Angeles. In a recent interview, Collins said the inductees have been invited to a lunch before the event, making a meeting with Noel and Liam Gallagher likely.
The tension dates back to the 1990s, when Noel Gallagher made several critical comments about Collins. Collins also recalled that his daughter, actress Lily Collins, once questioned Liam Gallagher about the supposed feud backstage at the 2007 Live Earth concert. Liam reportedly replied that he did not hate anyone.
Collins later offered a lighthearted explanation for Noel’s dislike. Noel had previously described being frightened while attending a Genesis concert in the 1980s. Collins believes the unsettling performance may have been Mama, a song known for his theatrical laugh and dramatic lighting.
Despite the history, Collins appears to be approaching the possible meeting with humor rather than hostility. He and Oasis are scheduled to be inducted on November 14 in Los Angeles.
