Jeff Bonno Chief engineer of WIKB,WFER,WRJO and WERL. This includes traveling to Eagle River as needed.
He is the host of Telephone Time on Saturdays. Every Sunday from 5am to 8am his program is called "Jeff's Oldies". Also host of Deer hunters round-up from Nov. 15 thru Nov. 30 from 6pm to 6:15 every evening. Jeff was born in St.Ignace, Mi. in 1958. His father being in the Michigan State Police- moved to Bridgeport,Mi.and from there settled in Iron River in 1965. He graduated from West Iron High School in 1976. He went to college studying electronics. while attending college he worked for Foster Electronics, and attained his FCC License in 1978.After college he returned to Iron River and worked at Coleman Products. When Coleman closed he was offered a key postion at John's Industries where he worked for 7 years. In 1990 he and his wife Nancy decided to open Jeff's Appliance. In 2005, While still in the appliance business he was invited by Mr.Jay Barry to join WIKB. His love for good music has always been important to him. He works very hard and is very dedicated to his many postions at WIKB and in life.Like most engineers he has a pair of"transmitter dogs",Smokey,a black golden retreiver and willy,a shelty, who travel with him when possible. He also (much to his wife Nancy's dispair) makes time to rescue Willys jeeps from the 1940's.In fair weather he can be seen driving his first 1947 CJ2A which he bought in 1975.
